PHEASANT SHOOTING

We can offer single or double days of quality driven shooting with 15 named drives of varying difficulty. Pheasant bags range from 200-300+ bird days and double gun shooting is welcome and available with prior notification.

The wooded valleys offer guns an exciting opportunity to get amongst some challenging, high pheasants in the Esk and Grange valleys. Most drives are clumps of steep sided mixed woodland and birds are driven from one side to the other across the Yorkshire Esk or tributary stream. The Egton Estate pheasants have traditionally been of Melanistic variety but more recently have been mixed with other sub species on the Estate by Bob Jackson, the head keeper with the help of his son James.

Egton Pheasant Shoot can accommodate guns of all abilities with some high bird drives and some confidence builders but all set within outstanding countryside.

Elevenses are served at the wooden chalet adjacent to the river. Bull shot, Sherry, Sloe Gin, local sausages and soft drinks are served by our team. A special atmosphere is created with the ambience of roaring fires, local food and the idyllic river frontage setting. Lunch is served in the Egton Manor Shoot Room with seating for 16 and double sided log burner. Laura and her team prepare locally sourced food for the table in order to suit client’s dietary requirements.

With effect from August 2015, Olly and Laura will welcome pheasant and grouse shooting parties into Egton Manor in order to make the experience complete. Guests will stay at Egton Manor, enjoy food and wine over a gourmet dinner party setting. Further details will follow as the team finalise plans for accommodating up to 16 guests at Egton Manor at any one time.

The team is currently developing further drives for the 2014/15 season.
