MANOR COTTAGE SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION

MANOR COTTAGE – comfortable and stylish for a perfect holiday

Why not take a look at our luxury cottage – a former Edwardian Shooting Lodge that today sleeps up to 5 people in style and boasts two wood burning stoves, lovely décor and ample parking, set amidst our wonderful estate with glorious walks nearby.

Manor Cottage is a first class option for discerning holidaymakers, whether a short break for couples, a week’s summer holiday for a family or an idyllic spot for a group of friends wanting to sample the superb fishing on the Yorkshire Esk - which is a two minute walk away - this is a perfect choice.

Great care has gone into updating this lovely period property, whilst retaining original features such as the stone flagged floors and panelled walls. Outside is a terraced area with a BBQ, ideal for sitting and enjoying an al fresco breakfast, dinner at the end of a day’s activities or to just sit and sip a nightcap under the stars.

With central heating throughout, Manor Cottage has a flagged hallway leading to a good size sitting room with a magnificent stone fireplace with wood burning stove – perfect for those cooler months, where you can sit and enjoy a cosy evening. There are large, comfortable sofas and a TV and DVD. This room has a pretty corner, complete with a desk and chair, to sit and read or write postcards. The kitchen, with its views over the courtyard, has a deep Belfast sink, electric oven and hob, dishwasher plus tall fridge/freezer. There is a dining area with a farmhouse table and chairs and a wood burning stove – light it and enjoy the flames, warmth and atmosphere that only a real fire can create.

On the first floor are the bedrooms – the master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed, television and wardrobe. The twin bedroom has two full size single beds and a tall boy and also looks out over the courtyard and towards the elegant manor house. The charming single room has a brass bed and original fireplace (decorative only) plus a closet and views over the wooded area to the rear. The large house bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and hand wash basin. The location is very special – the lovely village of Egton and neighbouring Egton Bridge are picturesque and boast three inns offering the choice of hearty pub meals or elegant fine dining; there is simply stunning woodland and fabulous walks nearby with Whitby, and its beautiful beaches, just a c. 5 minute drive away.

Come and sample the delights of Manor Cottage - we’ll make sure you have a memorable, comfortable stay. All utilities are included as are bed linens and towels. We are happy to welcome dogs at £30 per pet per stay. Wi-Fi is available. In the cooler months, we’ll arrange for a starter pack of logs to be waiting for you with additional seasoned logs available from our estate. Plus we’ll leave fresh bread, milk and a jar of our own honey for your arrival. What could be nicer?
